Builders Mutual Announces $5 Million Funding Commitment to Job-Site Safety Institute

RALEIGH, N.C. (February 18, 2026) – In a significant investment to advance job-site safety nationwide, Builders Mutual has announced it will commit $5 million in funding through 2030 to the Job-Site Safety Institute (JSI), a nonprofit research and educational organization dedicated to improving safety and protecting lives.
Builders Mutual founded JSI more than a decade ago, and since its inception, the organization has funded research and educational tool development through grants with select industry and university partners. Since 2015, Builders Mutual has contributed over $1.34 million to support their efforts.
“From the very beginning, Builders Mutual has been proud to support JSI’s mission. We feel we have an obligation to our policyholders to do more when it comes to safety,” said Mike Gerber, President and CEO of Builders Mutual. “Protecting and advancing the unique needs of the contractor community is core to who we are. JSI’s grants bring educational institutions and industry leaders together to share ideas and drive meaningful improvements in worker safety, and we’re proud to help fund efforts that keep this critical work moving forward.”
The long-term commitment provides JSI with a consistent stream of funding to source and support even more impactful research projects and grants through 2030. The Builders Mutual Board of Directors unanimously supported the decision to further protect workers and advance JSI’s mission.
